On the face of it Pony Island appears to be a very basic game about a cute pony jumping over fences. This simple veneer is quickly stripped away, however and the game takes a significantly darker turn. Saying too much would undoubtedly spoil the game, as Pony Island is an experience that manages to play with your expectations at almost every turn.

Aviary Attorney is a game developed by Sketchy Logic in which you play as an anthropomorphic falcon criminal-defence lawyer in 19th century Paris. (Which may be the most niche description of a game I’ve ever written…)
Aviary Attorney sees you take on the role of Jayjay Falcon as he investigates crimes across Paris so that he may better defend his clients in their upcoming criminal trials. With his quick-witted assistant Sparrowson at his side, it’s up to Falcon to ensure that justice is served so that the truly innocent may walk free once more.

With Christmas on its way, gamers everywhere wait in anticipation to receive the wonderful gift of new video games from their friends and loved ones. In the meantime however, the rest of December makes for the perfect time for me to catch up on the ever-increasing list of games that I either haven’t finished or missed out on entirely.
